We're Now a GAF-Certified Roofing Installer in Newington
Newington Roofing Pros is now a GAF-certified installer, meaning stronger warranties and factory-trained crews for every Hartford County roof we install.
A milestone that changes what we can offer Hartford County homeowners
As of this month, Newington Roofing Pros is officially a GAF-certified roofing installer. That’s a status GAF awards to a small percentage of roofers nationally, and it’s a status we’ve been working toward as a way to give our Hartford County customers stronger warranty coverage than any uncertified installer can offer. It’s another reason homeowners across the region choose our Newington roofing company for their biggest exterior investment.
If you’re planning a roof replacement in the next 12 months, this changes what your project is eligible for.
What GAF certification actually means
GAF is one of the largest asphalt shingle manufacturers in North America. Their factory training and certification programs — GAF Certified, GAF Master Elite — are limited to roofers who meet specific standards for licensing, insurance, ongoing training, and installation quality. Fewer than 5% of roofers nationally hold Master Elite status.
For a homeowner, the practical difference comes down to warranties. Standard manufacturer coverage from an uncertified installer runs limited-lifetime on materials only. Certified installers can offer enhanced coverage that includes workmanship, tear-off costs, and disposal — protection that matters if there’s ever an installation-related failure years down the line.
What this means for you
Stronger warranties. If you replace your roof with GAF materials through us, you qualify for enhanced warranty tiers only available through certified installers. Depending on the package, that can extend workmanship coverage to 25 years and include tear-off, disposal, and non-prorated material replacement.
Factory-trained installation. Every crew lead on a GAF project has completed the manufacturer’s install training and refreshers. That means ice-and-water shield coverage, starter course, ventilation ratios, and flashing details are done to the spec that keeps the warranty valid.
Third-party quality checks. Certified projects can be reviewed by GAF quality-control inspectors. That’s an extra layer of accountability that non-certified installers don’t have.
No change to your options. Owens Corning TruDefinition Duration is still on the menu, along with designer shingles for character homes. Certification just adds the warranty tier if you go with GAF.
What hasn’t changed
Everything else. Same crews, same phone number, same emergency response, same honest repair-vs-replace conversations. We’ve been installing GAF systems for years — this is a formalization of the training and the standards, not a new direction.
